Students in 5th grade who live in or attend public school in Community School District 6 are invited to apply to Mott Hall School for 6th grade as part of the Department of Education (DOE) Middle School Choice Process. Students who attend independent, charter or religious school and live in District 6 are welcomed to apply as well. The Mott Hall School is a screened middle school. Per the DOE's recent guidelines, students will be screened using their fourth grade scores in the four core classes. Applicants should rank MHS as their first choice.
If you have any questions about the process or about Mott Hall in particular, please reach out to our Guidance Counselor, Ms. Benjamin, for more information (rbenjamin@schools.nyc.gov). For more information about the Middle School Admissions process, please check out the DOE's Middle School Admissions website [link].
The Department of Education will notify candidates by mail of the final determination and placement for 6th grade.
